PRIVACY POLICY

At Münjar we believe in both the science and poetry of sustainability. We measure and we love. We read data and we howl at the moon. We look to the past for simplier, forgotten wisdom and look forward to the great acheivements of the future. Ultimately we are guided by four main principles.

Glossary

  • Reclaimed

Wood that has been retrieved from old buildings or other abandoned first life use. This reduces deforestation and keeps materials from unnecessary end of life.

  • By-Product

By-product materials are waste materials produced by a different industry. For example, Mango wood is a by product of a tree no longer usable for fruit production.

  • Recycled

Waste materials that have been collected and repurposed for new life. Recycling reduces impacts on landfill.

  • GoodWeave Certified

GoodWeave is a third party that inspects and certifies that the conditions and terms for people making rugs are save and fair.

  • FSC Certified

The Forest Stewardship Council promotes responsible forest management and certifies when wood has been sourced with sustainable practices.

  • Artisan

Artisan refers to products that are made in small batch by an artist-maker. The product is not produced through mass production.

  • GOTS Certified

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification ensures the organic status of textiles from the harvesting of the raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing all the way to labelling.

  • Responsible Production

This refers to products that are sourced from suppliers who have demonstrated a committment to sustainability in their operations, including practices like waste reduction, recycling and reuse, and energy management.

  • Natural Materials

This refers to products made of at least 75% natural materials. At Münjar we avoid products that contain synthetic and oil based materials and that are heavily processed. Natural materials also ensure a healthy end of life.

  • Natural Dyes

Natural dyeing is the process of using dyes found in nature to color a material. Natural dyeing is most often performed by the hand of skilled artist using materials such as walnut, merigold, indigo, cochineal and more.
